Lymph flow is an important component of our detoxification pathways, immune system, and cardiovascular system. Compromised lymph flow leads to an accumulation of toxins in the body. Causes of lymph stagnation include surgery, injury, sedentary lifestyle, poor diet and exposure to environmental toxins. The goal of lymphatic drainage techniques is to promote healthy lymph circulation. Manual lymph drainage was originally developed by French Dr. Bruno Chilely in the 1930’s. It utilizes gentle movements of the hands along lymph channels to relieve congestion. The practitioner will use touch to evaluate each patient’s unique lymph pathways to maximize lymph flow.
We also have a Lymph Star machine which is often combined with manual lymph drainage techniques or acupuncture to accelerate detoxification. It moves lymph with a combination of light, sound and noble gas ionization. During the treatment, the heads of the machine are placed in contact with the skin to stimulate the lymph channels.
Proper functioning of the lymphatic system is critical to our body's ability to drain fluids, detoxify, regenerate tissues, filter out toxins and foreign substances & maintain a healthy immune system.
On its own, our lymphatic system circulates, on average, three times a minute. When you receive the treatment, the lymphatic circulation increases to 30 times a minute! The effects last for about 24 hours, and you will notice an even bigger difference when you wake up the morning after a treatment!
Who should do lymphatic massage?
Everyone! It boosts the immune system, speeds up your body’s own natural detoxification process and is especially great for jetsetters who get swelling in their legs, ankles or puffiness in the face due to flying. Reduction in the risk of catching minor colds and viruses; it helps your body fight off infection & speeds up healing and recovery from illness!
Increasing weight loss, as improving the lymphatic system will improve your metabolic rate, helping you burn calories more efficiently, also reducing water retention.
Reduces pain and discomfort after surgery, injury or headache. Decongesting swollen and sore tissues through therapy, pain, and discomfort are reduced.
Use of lymphatic massage can cause additional, visible results like clearer complexion, reduced puffiness around the eyes, and lessened appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
The anti-aging benefits go back to the core of the treatment, which is detoxifying our fluid. This includes excess cell debris, excess protein, excess long chain fatty acids, as well as B&T lymphocytes and inorganic substances.
It has a sympathetic response. It puts you into a calmer state, as it sedates the fight or flight stress response in the body, restoring balance in the nervous system & promoting a feeling of deep relaxation.
The lymphatic function is vital to detox naturally and supports every system in the body including the immune, digestive and nervous systems. In other parts of the world, it’s believed that the lymph system is linked to a host of health concerns, from cellulite to cancer.
The fluid called lymph is part of the lymphatic system, together with lymphatic vessels, lymph nodes, the thymus, and the spleen. This system is a crucial support to the immune system and also supplements the cardiovascular system by helping to remove toxins from the body.
What Our Clients Says
I was diagnosed with crohns, ankylosing spondylitis, arthritis, Leaky gut, and a couple of other things along the way. But ultimately no doctor could really say what I had or provide relief. I visited Dr Kimiai after a 12 year health care journey with little hope, but visited Her at the urging of my father who had so much confidence in her practice. After one very thorough visit with her she diagnosed my situation, gave me a regiment of supplements and a prescription, and within 6 weeks my symptoms were completely gone. It’s been 7 months now and I am still in awe. I haven’t felt this good in 12+ years. I can’t recommend her and her team enough.”
